Who is spreadingideas

The culprit behind the rants and ramblings contained herein is Rodney Gagnon. I’m a blogger, cyclist, technology entrepreneur and wine geek residing in Boston, MA.  I am passionate about creating, designing and developing consumer internet and social media products.  I use this blog to share my ideas, adventures and writing.

AboutMe

Curiosity, obsession and dogged endurance are where my similarities with the venerable Mr Einstein begin and end.  These character traits have been the stalwarts in my personal and professional lives; allowing me to continually Learn, Create, and Share.

Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.  The important thing is to never stop questioning.” – Albert Einstein

My lifelong learning started with Computer Science at UMASS, Dartmouth and then on to Art History at UCLA, Music at the Berklee College of Music, Wine Studies at Boston University and French Language Studies at the Boston French Library.  My unique balance of science, arts and culture allows me to envision products for tomorrow but create for today.

“Thought is the sculptor who can create the person you want to be.” – Henry David Thoureau

I have been creating software products and services in a myriad of industries for the past 20 years.  You can review where I’ve been, what I’ve done and who I’ve had the pleasure to work with at LinkedIn.  In 2006, I started Kayanta to create Social Media products and services.  Our first product is a personal Social Advisor application for Social Networks.  We are now experimenting with new social and educational experiences with eReaders.  And if that wasn’t enough, I’ve also started a blog with my wine classmates to share our wine and culinary adventures called WineDineWith.us.

“What we share with another ceases to be our own.” – Edgar Quinet

Well, if it is not obvious by now, it should be.  I love to share my ideas, creations and experiences.  Besides SpreadingIdeas.info, Kayanta.com and WineDineWith.us, I share quips on Twitter, photos on Flickr, videos on YouTube, links on Delicio.us and presentations on SlideShare.  I continually experiment with new social technologies so I wouldn’t be surprised if you found my trail elsewhere.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy spreading ideas as much as I do.
